Songs of Past Romance

LIST UPDATED!

It’s so weird how every time you have a new guy to drool over, there’s always a song being played over and over again on the radio that gets to you. Sometimes the lyrics of a song is too similar to your own tale of love that you think that, by some weird fate or alignment of the stars, the song was made especially for you. Sometimes a song just reminds you of your muse, despite the fact that the song is not even a love song. And sometimes you just randomly pick a song and decide that this is the theme song for your new crush, regardless of what the song is.

When I look over my shamefully long list of long forgotten romances, I realize that I still think of them whenever those songs happen to be playing on the radio. Here are a few of my past theme songs…

1. 1st boyfriend - “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer (ironic, since we never kissed)
2. Ganu - “Since You’ve Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson (the lyrics spoke to me.. It was all pretend)
3. Love of My Life - “Kenangan Terindah” by Samsons (aku yang lemah tanpamu.. so he said.. LIES!!)
4. Beach Bum - “Sempurna” by Andra and the Backbone (first song we really listened to at the start of the relationship)
5. Fat Bastard – “Jingle Bitch” by Phoebe Buffet (FRIENDS) – some lyrics may have been changed to better suit the situation.
6. Immature - “I’m Already Gone” by Kelly Clarkson (we were always meant to say goodbye)

Bunkface VS Fall Out Boy?

So I totally fell in love with this new Malay song called "Situasi" by an Indie band called Bunkface. Then one of my friend was like, "This song sounds like a Fall Out Boy's song". He was right. The beginning of both songs are very similar. Check them out below:

I still like the Bunkface song though. LOL. It's a good song regardless of whether or not it was inspired (it probably was) by the Fall Out Boy one.

My First Attempt at Jason Mraz on the GUITAR!!!!

Okay, so I borrowed muffinman's guitar today and tried to play Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours". Hahah. I'm no guitar player, and haven't really held a guitar in a loooong time, so don't be too mean when criticizing. And yes, I know I made TONS of mistakes :P

Just watched the Jonas Brother's music video for Lovebug, and I've gotta say, 1940's Joe Jonas is delicious! Who would have thought a guy could look so yummy in suspenders and glasses? Hairspray Dance Part 1

I'm kinda late in posting this, but here's the video from when we were practicing dancing to Hairspray's Nicest Kids In Town for UPM TESL Juniors' Welcoming Party. I think it was one of the better ones. Hahaha. As you can see, Jumat looks like she's dancing to Zapin :P Hehehe. Enjoy! I will post the actual performance once I get my hands on the video.

I'm loving Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" and was browsing through youtube when I found this guy's cover of it. His name is Frank Foks and he's a Dutch singer. I love his cover of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours". And I also love the fact that it was done in a moving car. Very spontaneous. He's amazing! Check it out!

1) No Air - Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown
I wish I could sing like her. And I spend almost every morning practicing. Much to the annoyance of my neighbours :)

2) Bleeding Love - Leona Lewis
Another great song. Can u believe Jesse McCartney wrote this song? And yes, I've been trying (and failing miserably) to sing this song for weeks now.

3) Gejolak Kawula Muda - Club Eighties
A song from an Indonesian band that was used as the theme song for the sinetron CInta SMU. Very 80's. I usually don't like anything 80's but the beat is just so infectious!

4) Burnin' Up - Jonas Brothers
Thanks to the influence of my 17yr old sister. Not a bad tune. I don't know the lyrics to it, but it gets me energized walking to class.

5) 7 Things - Miley Cyrus
Another one of the songs of the energizer nature. And yes, I also don't know the lyrics to this song, hence the need to just bop my head up and down while I listen to it.

6) Cinta Ini Membunuhky - d'Masiv
Yes, still in love with this song :)

7) Show Me Tha Money - Petey Pablo
Step Up soundtrack. This way, I get to pretend I'm an amazing dancer in my head. Dancing with Channing Tatum hee hee hee.
